Lexub experience: An interview with Thomas Friis Nielsen, Founder of Friis Advokatfirma in Denmark and United Arab Emirates

In this interview, Zolo Mundur, the CEO of Codelex Legaltech, spoke with Thomas Friis Nielsen, Founder of Friis Advokatfirma Law firm in United Arab Emirates (UAE), about his law practice and his thoughts about using Lexub. 

ZM: Could you please introduce yourself and your law firm to us?

TFN: I am Thomas Friis Nielsen, a licensed attorney-at-law in Denmark and UAE I have been working in the corporate and commercial field for approximately 14 years. I am the founder and owner of Friis Advokatfirma. Friis Advokatfirma is a commercial law firm practicing in Denmark and the United Arab Emirates. Our firm provides legal advice of the highest standard within international contract law, UAE company law, and blockchain law. We are especially known for our expertise in setting up the right company structure for companies that wish to gain a foothold in the market in the UAE. But we also help a lot of blockchain and crypto start-ups getting the right legal set-up for their business and their token sales.

ZM: How do you imagine the future of the legal industry and profession?

TFN: It is my impression that the IT industry is already changing the legal industry. There are more and more companies that offer alternatives to the traditional law firms where the customers can get certain legal customized services from online legal companies without visiting a physical law firm. I think this trend will continue although I think there will still be a place for the traditional law firms.

ZM: What do you think are the advantages of Lexub? Would you recommend it to other lawyers?

TFN: Most law firms have their collection of contracts that they can use as a starting point when they need to draft a similar contract in a new case. But even though law firms have these collections it will still happen that they cannot find a contract that can be used as a template for a specific case. In these situations, Lexub is a great platform because you can find the template that you are missing there and for an affordable price. In addition to this Lexub gives you the possibility to earn some passive income by uploading your own templates to the platform so that other lawyers can get the benefit of them. Furthermore, I find Lexub easy to use which is important for me since I am often working with tight deadlines.

ZM: Please tell us some of the tools/websites/applications you can find useful and would like to recommend to others.

TFN: Besides Lexub I use the website "Practical Law" to find free contract templates if I cannot find a suitable template in our own collection. Sometimes I also use the platform ”Legal Hero” which is a platform that establishes contact between lawyers and clients."
